Community Outreach


The Committee on Outreach is responsible for leadership and support of the Church as it reaches out to witness in this synod through evangelism, support of urban, small and rural ministries, development of new ministries and new congregations, and mission strategy development. This committee also relates to camps, campus ministries and educational institutions.

This booklet is a self-guided resource intended to help you identify where your congregation or ministry site is in living out its purpose. Being clear about that can help leaders turn their attention to appropriate stewardship of the ministry at this time and place.

MANUAL FOR CONGREGATIONAL MISSION PLANNING

Aim at nothing and you will generally hit it. This resource to help congregations discern and plan their mission provides a biblical foundation, a process for understanding the neighborhood and community surrounding the church, and steps to develop a plan for the congregation's ministry in the next 2-3 years.
